Calgary, Aug. 01, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — From rivers and forests to fields and farms, chef Darren MacLean has crafted a series of one-on-one tours to do more than introduce the world’s top chefs to the proud staples and surprising ingredients from his country of birth.
The Cultural Leaders Exchange Program delves into the historical, cultural and environmental significance of his nation’s generosity, discerning the true culinary value of Canada on the world stage.
His missions : Show the world the best of Canadian cuisine through the lens of the world’s top chefs.
Each month, guest chefs come, learn, collaborate and deliver a re-energized and reimagined definition of Canada – through innovative natural and cultural experiences – in their communities, by the millions.

As the full list of 2023 attendees is in the works, Chef MacLean is proud to welcome the new San Pellegrino The 50 best restaurants in the world winner Chef Alberto Landgraf of Oteque in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 2 to 7, 2022.
Highlights of his travel plans include fly fishing in Alberta’s Crowsnest Pass, camping in Castle Provincial Park, and foraging with Denis Manzer of Light Cellars and Julie Walker of Full-Circle Adventures.

By bringing Chef Landgraf here – on a wild, natural, cultural and culinary exploration – we show the value and importance of true food diplomacy through travel. In addition to the paid meals, each of the programs of important academic and community discussions on contemporary issues and opportunities was held free of charge by donation to the hospital campus of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
During Chef Colibri Jiminez’s most recent visit to Canada, she explored Canada’s Rocky Mountain and foothills regions, examined agricultural differences between Mexico and Canada, and celebrated the similarities in the chef’s relationship with farmers. premises and their sustainable practices.
