Antigo Region Community Food Pantry January 19and 11am-2pm (Wednesday) & January 21st 1-3 p.m. (Fri), 2120 Progress Blvd., Antigo (715) 623-1103. We ask anyone wishing to use the food pantry to wait in cars or outside and a volunteer will provide directions for service. Elcho Area Community Food Pantry January 17and & January 24and 2:30-4:30 p.m. (Monday), January 19and 4-6 p.m. (Wednesday), 11224 Antigo St., Elcho. Individuals will receive a checklist of food items and can indicate their selections and then submit the list. Food will be distributed based on availability and number of family members. Note that the pantry is not open on public holidays or on days when schools are closed due to snow. (715) 275-5010.

free open skate January the 21stst 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Langlade County Hockey Arena, 1633 Neva Road, Antigo. Open Skates are FREE with the donation of a can. There are a limited number of skates available (these are free, but must be returned at the end of the skate). There is no skate sharpening at the rink during public skating hours. Walls of Wittenberg presents Quilting Show “The Art of the Quilter VIII – Quilty as Charged” 22 januaryn/a & 23rd, January 29and & 30and & February 5 & 6and 11am-3pm Sat & Sun WOWSPACE, 114 rue Vinal, Wittenberg. We invite you to our 8th Annual Open Quilt Show at WOWSPACE in Wittenberg, WI. This is a show without jury or judgement. 1st, 2n/a, and 3rd Place People’s Choice and an Award of Excellence will be awarded. The 2022 fair will include: over 40 quilts on display, a featured antique quilt, a disappearing quilt block display/tutorial, and a selection of lightly used quilt books available for free offering. Admission to the show is FREE. Please join us in making this show one of WOW’s most attended shows again.

Annual Elcho XC Club Ski Contest 22 januaryn/a 11am-2pm Moccasin Ski Hill, N11190 Bear Ln., Elcho. It’s the annual Elcho XC Club Ski Junket on Saturday, January 22, 2022, starting at 11 a.m. at the Moccasin Lake Cross-Country Trailhead. Try out the ski and snowshoe equipment provided by Mel’s Sporting Goods of Rhinelander and relax in the warm Michelle’s Lodge. Masks will be mandatory during the Junket in the Lodge. Hot chocolate and cookies will be offered outside Michelle’s Lodge. People don’t have to bring snacks to spend this year. The public is invited to join us. Our 6 day bespoke bamboo fly rod making course may be the experience you are looking for. Taught by Forrest Young of Nostalgia Rod Company, you’ll follow the intricate steps of building your own custom rod. From hand-splitting the world’s finest Tokin bamboo to applying the final coat of gloss varnish, your masterpiece will be the subject of many future fishing trips. REALIFE is designed to be a safe place where junior and senior high school students (grades 7-12) can invite friends over for an evening filled with encouragement, fun and camaraderie.
