Learn the basics of fly fishing at Leonard Harrison State Park in Wellsboro! | Life



Wellsboro, PA – On Saturday, July 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Park Naturalist Bob Edkin is hosting a free in-person “Introduction to Fly Fishing” for those who want to learn more about the sport.

“Fly fishing may seem intimidating to a beginner, but it’s not that complicated,” said Edkin.

During the program, he will teach the basics of fly fishing, including the selection of a rod and gear and the types of flies to use, as well as a brief introduction to casting.

The program will take place at the Schloder Pavilion behind the Leonard Harrison State Park office at 4797 PA-660, Wellsboro.

The park is approximately 10 miles from Wellsboro on Route 660 West, and is located on the eastern edge of the Pine Creek Gorge, also known as Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania.
